Most companies nowadays use a huge range of SaaS tools. From project management to web hosting to creative suites, there is a SaaS option for just about anything.
In this regard, loads of content out there will advise you on the best SaaS tools you should be using for your business. But it is mostly based on the opinions of the writer or brand who’s publishing the content.
At Sastrify, we would rather let the data speak for itself.
As the leading SaaS procurement solution in Europe, Sastrify has endless data on the SaaS purchasing of global companies – which tools they’re buying, how much they’re spending, how much they’re saving, and much more.
We used our data pool to list the top 15 trending SaaS tools in 2024, based on which tools are being used by the highest number of Sastrify customers. (Curious about which tools rank highest for the total amount of spend? We will provide you a summary at the end.)
The top 15 most used SaaS tools in 2024:
1. Adobe Creative Cloud
The Adobe Creative Cloud is a collection of Adobe software products and cloud storage sold with a monthly subscription model. Apps in the Creative Suite include Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, and more. Students, teachers, schools, and businesses may qualify for special pricing.
2. Slack
Slack is a communication and collaboration tool designed for workplaces. It allows for messaging between individuals, groups, and even external parties (like freelancers, customers, partners, or agencies). Slack has a wide variety of helpful features including audio and video calls, integrations with other SaaS tools, bots, and more. Teams can start out using Slack’s free plan and upgrade based on the number of users and features required.
3. Google Workspace
Formerly known as Google Suite, Google Workspace is a collection of online office tools for collaboration such as Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Chat, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Sites, and more. Businesses use Google Workspace because it is a simple way to create a cloud-based work environment without restrictions like needing all team members to use the same type of computer.
Anyone can use the Google Workspace apps by creating a free Gmail account. But most businesses choose paid plans so they can create branded email addresses, increase security, and boost their allowed cloud storage.
4. Atlassian
Atlassian’s SaaS products include tools like Jira, Confluence, Opsgenie, Statuspage, and Trello. The company is mostly a provider of solutions for software developers, but some of its tools – especially collaboration tools Trello and Confluence – are used by teams of all kinds.
While each tool can be purchased on its own, another option is called Atlassian Access, a subscription service that charges only by unique users (i.e. one team member can use multiple tools without duplicate charges).
5. Zoom
Zoom offers cloud-based teleconferencing software that can be used to meet with others via audio or video. It has existed since 2011, but of course gained massive adoption in 2020 as the pandemic forced many people to work from home.
Zoom offers many collaborative capabilities, including live chat, Q&A, screen sharing, webinar options, and more. There is a free option for personal use, with a variety of package options for organizations.
6. Amazon Web Services
Amazon Web Services, or AWS, is Amazon’s comprehensive cloud platform, offering over 200 SaaS products. Product categories include analytics, content delivery, developer tools, databases, and many others.
Pricing is difficult to summarize, as there are so many options available, but all offer a pay-as-you-go approach. Many tools have a free level or trial option, and others have savings options for commitments or high usage.
7. JetBrains
JetBrains makes tools for software developers and project managers, such as Space, Toolbox App, IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, PhpStorm, ReSharper, and Rider. They have development tool options for any platform or language you might work with.
Pricing is available for individual tools, or users/organizations can choose packages of all JetBrains products. Special offers are available for students, teachers, startups, schools, open-source projects, and more.
8. GitHub
GitHub is an internet hosting provider for software development and version control. It is an open-source community where developers can upload their code, track changes, and work collaboratively to improve it.
There are free options available for GitHub, but teams and enterprises can access more features with the paid plans. Special deals are available for open-source teams, students and teachers, and nonprofits.
9. LinkedIn Premium
LinkedIn is the most widely used professional networking site, and Premium is its paid subscription tier. The site overall is free to use, but many companies opt for the Premium option to access features like InMail message credits, LinkedIn Learning, and profile viewers.
From an organizational standpoint, Premium is especially helpful for lead generation, networking, and hiring. Premium pricing depends on the specific plan chosen: Career, Business, Sales, or Hiring.
10. Microsoft
Microsoft offers a wide range of SaaS tools, so we grouped them all under one Microsoft umbrella. SaaS offerings include Microsoft Office – which groups together Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, OneNote, and more – and other major services like Microsoft Azure and Dynamics 365.
11. Figma
Figma is a cloud-based design tool that is mostly used for vector graphics editing and prototyping. It allows teams to collaborate in each stage: brainstorming, designing, and building. For the brainstorming stage, teams can also access a tool called FigJam, an online whiteboard to help teams ideate.
Figma has a free starter plan with other packages starting at $12 per month. FigJam is an add-on with a free option or packages starting at $3 per month.
12. Miro
Miro is a cloud-based collaborative whiteboard platform that helps distributed teams work together. It is unique due to its “infinitely zoomable” canvas that allows teams to get as creative and granular as they want.
Miro has a free option, but it only includes up to 3 editable boards. From there, teams can upgrade to a range of paid packages with more features and unlimited boards.
13. Zapier
Zapier allows end users to integrate their web applications and automate workflows. Each integration is called a “Zap”, and users can choose triggers that set their Zap in motion – for example, receive an email in Gmail → copy attachment from Gmail to Dropbox → alert in Slack about the new Dropbox file.
Zapier has various pricing options, which can be scaled up or down depending on the number of Zaps needed per month.
14. Calendly
Calendly is an online appointment scheduling software that simplifies “finding a time” for meetings. Users can connect Calendly to their work or personal calendar and allow others to book meetings with them during mutually convenient times.
Calendly can integrate with many other SaaS tools, including Zoom, Typeform, Slack, Salesforce, and many more. Packages range from basic (free) to enterprise.
15. DocuSign
